The Oribi is said to have 12 separate subspecies according to literature wrote by many people such as Stephan J Carton- Barber however SCI only recognizes 4. The Oribi above was hunted in central Tanzania. According to Stephan J this is the Cottons Oribi but SCI ranks it as the central Oribi. Through SCI the central Oribi is found and hunted in Tanzania, Zambia, and Namibia. The Oribi is part of the tiny 10 and part of the many Pygmy antelope species found across the great African continent.
I hunted a second species of Oribi in South Africa in 2022 know as the Southern Oribi via SCI record book. Two more subspecies for the SCI record book and I will have all 4 but I believe there are a few different subspecies even within these subspecies that SCI recognizes.
